Khyber: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan on Thursday formally launched the construction process for the Khyber Bara-Tirah Valley Road project — a news source reported.

The 42-kilometre long road will be constructed at an estimated cost of PKR 61 billion, while the project is being carried out by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Communication and Works Department. According to sources, the projects will be completed in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

As per the initial estimates, construction of Khyber Bara-Tirah Valley Road is expected to be completed within two years. This link-road will facilitate over 100,000 residents of Tirah Valley, along with people living in the remote areas of KP.

Furthermore, the road project will also reduce the travel time to Tirah Valley from four hours, to a mere one hour. Similarly, people traveling to and from the District Kirm and District Orakzai will also experience that their travel times have reduced by about two hours each.
