Gujranwala: The development work for laying the special track and related infrastructure of the Lahore-Gujranwala Shuttle Services has begun, according to a news source. The federal government recently approved to the initiation of the shuttle service between the two cities.

In addition to laying the new track for this project, the Railways staff is also repairing the existing lines to improve its operations. According to reports, the development work in this regard is expected to be completed this month. Railways officials have also confirmed that the shuttles service will begin on a timely basis.

Meanwhile, thousands of students, business persons and labourers who travel between the two cities on a daily basis have lauded the government’s decision to launch the said facility. Currently, trains that run between these cities remain overcrowded and cause commuters problems.

Moreover, the planned shuttle service will also benefit residents of towns and cities located between Lahore and Gujranwala.
