Peshawar: Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shahid Khan Khattak on Monday launched the development work on a small dam in Zeri that is expected to cost PKR 42.21 million to the national exchequer, according to news sources.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, the MNA addressed the attendees and revealed that the funds for the dam construction have already been released. The lawmaker also stated that the dam will be developed by the Irrigation Department.
As per the details, this small dam is being constructed in the Zeri area of Mithakhel Union Council (UC) of Karak District. The project, when completed, will also benefit the residents of UC Isak Chountra.

Moreover, Khattak expressed hope that the project would resolve the problems of drinkable water– as it stands to boost the water table in the area. He warned that the water issues will get worst if proper measures are not timely taken. He assured that efforts are being contributed to putting Karak on the path of development, adding that more mega-development projects are in the pipeline.
