Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Wednesday inaugurated several uplift projects in the province’s Khyber district, including one concerned with the widening (and overall enhancement) of the 43-kilometer-long Bara-Mastak Road, according to news sources.
The project is estimated to cost PKR 1.6 billion and would be completed in two years. According to officials, this road enhancement project will reduce travel time between Bara and Tirah valley from four hours to two.

The chief minister inaugurated the construction of a Rescue 1122 building in the Bara tehsil. Moreover, he also launched a Citizens Facilitation Centre at the municipal building Bara tehsil. The centre has been completed with a budget of PKR 19.7 million.
He also oversaw the oath ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of Bara Press Club. He spoke with media persons and lauded the journalistic community for its efforts.

Minister Mahmood also revealed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government had formulated a 10-year development plan for the tribal districts. He said that the KP government had earmarked PKR 83 billion (the largest development budget to date) for speedy development of the newly-merged tribal districts. He also declared all the development work would be executed as per the wishes and preferences of the elected representatives of dwellers of the area.
