Faisalabad: Construction work on key roads connecting the district of Faisalabad with surrounding tehsil including Samundri Road and Jhang Road has started, news sources reported. The restructuring and reconstruction of dilapidated Samundri Road has been ongoing for a month, and work on Jhang Road has also begun.

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FCCI) President Engr. Hafiz Ihtasham Javed expressed his delight at the start of development work. He stated that the city of Faisalabad draws thousands of textile workers who come to the city in search of work and that the development of roads would enhance the city’s infrastructure, encouraging greater industrialisation and create more job opportunities.

According to reports, rehabilitation work on these roads began in April 2021, following approval from the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP). Other projects approved by the government included construction of Satiana Road from By-Pass to Tandilianwala at a cost of PKR 500 million, rehabilitation/improvement of roads from MC Limits up to Faisalabad Ring Road and rehabilitation of Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road and Faisalabad-Satiana Road.
