Karachi: Sindh Local Government (LG) Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah reviewed the development work taking place in various parts of the city and showed his satisfaction over the pace of work, news sources reported on September 30.

The minister pledged that the development work will be completed speedily and within the specified time frames. He made this statement while presiding over a meeting to review the construction work being executed in Karachi following torrential monsoon downpours.
Nasir Hussain Shah ordered the district administration, the KDA, and the water board to compile a comprehensive list of all the development projects and accelerate the pace of the work. On the occasion, Sindh Local Government Secretary Najam Ahmad Shah iterated that to provide the residents of the city with immediate relief from their everyday problems, orders have been issued to complete the construction of the road from the UBL Sports Complex to Piala Hotel, People’s Chowrangi, and Namak Bank on a priority basis. He said that the government has engaged the World Bank (WB) to transform Karachi into a world-class metropolis and a progressive city.

It must be noted that the city’s infrastructure was badly damaged by one of the worst urban floods. The administration has sought the federal government and international lenders for funding to repair damaged buildings and roads.
