The news source claims that work on the construction of the 150-feet wide LDA City Main Boulevard has started. The Engineering Wind is currently busy levelling the Main Boulevard. Reportedly, the pace of development increased after the LDA director general issued a written order.

The project was put on halt due to some discrepancies found in the land acquired for the project and the number of files sold. The Supreme Court of Pakistan took notice of the matter in December 2018. The court directed the Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed to make a plan to compensate the file holders concerned.
Following the apex court’s order, the minister instructed the LDA to compensate all file owners. He also asked the development authority to get new development partners on board for the project. The LDA later prepared the terms of reference for processing LDA City plot allotments.
Wrapping the case earlier in January this year, the SC instructed the LDA to allocate plots to the 9,000 file owners in eight months. It also instructed the development authority to remove the loopholes delaying the project and submit a report every month.
