Lahore: The development work on Bab-e-Pakistan Project Phase I has formally begun, according to a news source. The idea of the project that spans 117 acres was conceived back in the late 80s. The project will be completed in two years under two phases and is expected to cost PKR 4 billion.
In Phase I, the construction work on a monument, a sports complex, and the main alleys will be completed. A lake, food court, several parks and gateways will also be completed.
Reportedly, a comprehensive strategy has been prepared to develop the project, for which a supervisory committee has also been formed. In the meantime, the Pakistan Horticulture Authority (PHA) has also decided on employing consultants and contracting firms for the project.
The delivery deadline for the Bab-e-Pakistan Project Phase I is January 2019.
