Multan: On the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Multan’s district administration has initiated development work at Sabzi Mandi, according to a news source. Multan Assistant Commissioner (AC) Abida Farid paid a visit to the vegetable market yesterday (January 3) to inspect the pace of development.

The AC was briefed that the relevant departments have installed 34 streetlights in the premises. In addition, CCTV monitoring of the market has also been started. After visiting the Vegetable Market, AC Farid visit the Ghala Mandi and inspected the mode of operations and the cleanliness situation. She directed the Water and Sanitation Authority to immediately remove the blockage in sewerage lines linked with Ghala Mandi.

In another development, Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) initiated a crackdown against hospitals, schools and other institutions littering the streets. The orders in this regard came directly from MWMC CEO Nasir Shehzad Dogar.

Following his directives, MWMC officials issued warning notices to over 12 institutions. The issuance of second notices to the institutions who fail to comply will come with the imposition of heavy penalties.
