Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved several development schemes worth PKR 970 million – a news source reported.
PDWP sanctioned the schemes during a special session, which was presided over by P&D Board Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani. Other concerned officials also attended the meeting.
Last week, PDWP approved several water schemes at a cost of PKR 8.19 billion. At least 662 dysfunctional rural water supply projects will be fixed. Under the project, clean drinking water will be provided to households.
In December, PDWP sanctioned 21 projects worth PKR 5.49 billion for the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Additional Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash chaired the session.
International agencies such as USAID, International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL-P), World Food Programme (WFP), and Asian Development Bank (ADB) are funding these projects.
