Islamabad: Three development projects worth PKR 3.17 billion have been approved by Central Development Working Party (CDWP), a news source reported. CDWP has referred another mega project worth PKR 4.06 billion to Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for approval.
The decisions were taken during a meeting of CDWP presided over by Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar. Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The meeting accorded approval to phase-II of the Khyber Area development project worth PKR 520.114 million. The project aims to eliminate illegal trade in the area besides constructing roads.
CDWP also approved an education project at a cost of PKR 2.6 billion which would focus on improving human development indicators in Pakistan (education related) under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It approved a development project of mass media sector worth PKR 47.5 million. The technical upgradation of Radio Station Multan will be carried out in collaboration with South Korea.
Moreover, the establishment and operation of basic education community schools at a cost of PKR 4.06 billion was referred to ECNEC for final approval.
