Mohmand: Federal Minister for Water Resources Khursheed Ahmed Shah has disclosed that 20% of the work on Mohmand Dam has been completed, according to news published on June 3.

The federal minister visited the dam site to review the progress of construction. He revealed that four years were left for the completion of the project and hoped that it will be completed within a stipulated time. Minister for Water Resources Shah also mentioned that the work on four other dams was underway, which will make the country self-sufficient in terms of water sources.
Moreover, he mentioned that being an agricultural country, the country needs dams for improving the economy. He further added that the Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) expects the project to be completed by mid-2026. The minister stated that the dam will address the food, energy security, and water issues of the country.

Reportedly, the construction work on Mohmand Dam was launched in 2019. The dam is being constructed on the Swat River, 5-kilometres upstream of Munda Headworks in the Mohmand tribal district.
