Islamabad: A high-level meeting presided over by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday (March 30) accorded its approval to a development package for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), a news source reported on March 31.

Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Minister for Finance Muhammad Hammad Azhar, Minister for Communications Murad Saeed, Minister for Information Technology Aminul Haq, GB Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, and other officials concerned were all present on the occasion.
According to the details revealed, the GB uplift package will pave the way for development of the region as well as create job opportunities for the local population. PM Khan is expected to announce the initiative during his upcoming visit to GB.

Addressing the attendees, the prime minister said that the government is committed to ensuring the development of Gilgit-Baltistan. He further directed the officials concerned to tap into the tourism potential of the region and provide well-planned recreational facilities to both local and international tourists.
