Rawalpindi: The Government of Punjab has approved the establishment of a new city near Rawat, along the Rawalpindi Ring Road’s (RRR) route, according to a news source published on July 12. The planned development will fall under the Rawalpindi District’s jurisdiction and will span an area of 6,000 acres.
Sources claim that the authorities concerned have acquired the land for this project. The city will be featuring various amenities and other facilities planned along the route of the RRR will also be in close proximity of the said project.

While speaking to media, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Murtaza said that the new city will be developed according to the master plan and the foundation stone for the project will be laid in 2020 as preparations are already underway.
As per the details, the new city will feature an underground electrification system, its own dedicated water supply arrangement – along with underground and overhead water tanks. It will be located close to the fruits and vegetable markets already planned along the RRR route.

In addition to the above-mentioned facilities, the project will feature a 500-bed hospital, educational institutes and a theme park.
