Bannu: The district development committee (DDC) Bannu on Wednesday (March 02) approved a development budget of PKR 547 million for the district, news sources reported. The funds will be used for the ongoing development and irrigation related projects in the area.

Reportedly, the funds were approved in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zubair Niazi. The meeting was told that the funds had been agreed to undertake projects related to public welfare, irrigation, education, livestock and other sectors. Following will be the details of the project:

- PKR 33 million have been allocated for the irrigation sector
- PKR 15 million for a traffic management plan.
In addition to this, it was told that the government would spend the following funds for the future projects
- PKR 800 million will be spent on uplift schemes in the education sector
- PKR 20 million has been allocated for the livestock department
