Gujranwala: Jinnah Welfare Society Pakistan (JWS) CEO Qazi Shoaib Alam has said that setting up housing schemes on agriculture land should not be allowed, reported a news source. The CEO was speaking at the Fourth Annual Agricultural Conference, which was also attended by District Council Chairman Choudhry Mazhar Qayyum Nahra.
Alam further said that Pakistan is the third most water-stressed country according to the International Monetary Fund. Even though Pakistan has natural water resources and a comprehensive canal system, but to truly benefit from these resources, a far-reaching strategy is required. He also stressed the need for the introduction of modern methods to conserve water in agricultural use.
