This directive will help prevent the illegal selling of plot files.
Abbasi stated that housing societies will not develop plots on spaces created from the partitioning of housing plots. The new rules will protect peoples’ investment, and require housing societies to provide comprehensive residential facilities. The district’s housing projects have until January 20 to get themselves registered with the RDA. After this deadline, the agency will proceed to seal their offices.

RDA has begun uploading layout plans of approved societies onto its website. Through this provision, people will be able to identify the plots and facilities promised to them by the society on the map. Plans of eleven societies have been uploaded so far. Remaining plans will be published in a couple of weeks.
The civic body has also started checking the legal status of private housing schemes, upon the directives of the district planning and design committee.
