Islamabad: The government recently shared the details regarding its proposed electricity bill waivers for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under the ‘Chota Karobar-o-Sanat Imdadi Package’ in a publication. Under the package, the executive will pay three months’ worth of electricity bills for the said initiatives.

According to the information available, the commercial connections with bills amounting to PKR 100,000, and industrial connections with bills amounting to PKR 450,000, are allowed to avail this scheme.
Moreover, only commercial connections with a capacity of up to 5KW and industrial connections with a 30KW power output are eligible for the package. Additionally, the connections are required to have been installed prior to March 2020.
The package will also extend to Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Under the package, the aid amount equal to 3 months’ worth of bills will be added to the bill amounts accumulated during the months of May, June and July of 2020 by the federal government. The SMEs will be able to utilise this amount during a period of 6 months.
