Lahore: Development authorities have been asked to submit details of the anti-encroachment campaigns in their respective areas to Punjab Local Government and Community Development Department, a news source reported. Local Government Minister Abdul Aleem Khan issued these directives.
According to a notification, the authorities concerned would provide details of the total area retrieved so far and state land still under the control of illegal occupants and land mafias. Details pertaining to the anti-encroachment operations have been sought from Lahore, Bahawalpur, Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha authorities.
The department has also asked for submission of details of Clean and Green Punjab campaign and the role of the development agencies in this regard.
A focal person will also be nominated by these agencies to serve as a close liaison with the local government department, and these agencies will also coordinate with the divisional director of the department in their respective divisions.
