Islamabad: All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) recorded an increase of 47% in the sales of local cement in July 2023 as compared to 1.887 million tons in July 2022, according to news published in the leading newspaper on August 3.

As per the details, it was shared that the exports also witnessed a massive surge of 184%, with volumes increasing from 153,517 tons in July 2022 to 435,854 tons in July 2023. This resulted in overall sales of 3.21 million tons, a remarkable 57% increase compared to the same month of the previous year.
In July 2023, North-based cement mills dispatched 2.473 million tons of cement, showing a rise of 46.54% compared to 1.688 million tons dispatched in July 2022. On the other hand, South-based mills dispatched 739,376 tons of cement during July 2023, a substantial growth of 109.61% compared to the despatches of 352,747 tons in July 2022.
Domestic sales from North-based mills in July 2023 stood at 2.351 million tons of cement, marking a rise of 45.37% from 1.617 million tons despatched in July 2022. Similarly, South-based mills sold 425,336 tons of cement in local markets during July 2023, reflecting a growth of 57.84% compared to the despatches of 269,477 tons in July 2022.

Exports from North-based mills also experienced growth, increasing by 73.41%, with quantities rising from 70,247 tons in July 2022 to 121,814 tons in July 2023. Exports from the South surged by an impressive 277.13% to 314,040 tons in July 2023 from 83,270 tons during the same month last year.
