Islamabad: The Ministry of Housing and Works has stated that construction on Alipur Farash’s 2,400 low-cost apartments is progressing quickly, news sources reported on January 19. The project is being developed under the auspices of the Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority (NAPHDA).

According to a ministry official, the project is on schedule, with excavation work on 26 blocks and the rafting of two blocks completed. Similarly, steel cage constructions of 16 blocks will be built in the near future. It was also revealed that 400 flats have been set aside for Katchi Abadi locals out of the total number of units under development. So far, the initiative has hired over 1,000 people, with the number anticipated to rise to 5,000 in the coming days.

The ministry has also allotted PKR 109 billion to restart construction on the apartment projects in Kurri Road of Islamabad, Wafaqi Colony of Lahore, and Sectors G-10/2, I-16/3, and I-12/1 of Islamabad. Similarly, the government has begun construction on a 1,350-unit residential complex on Kuchlak Road in Quetta. A comparable project of 10,000 flats has been developed across an area of 8,500 kanal in Peshawar’s PHA Residencia Sarozai Project.
