Gujranwala: The Environmental Protection Department and All Pakistan Brick Kiln Association have decided to change the design of kilns in the district, according to a news report.
The new kilns will be designed along modern lines, which will reduce the carbon emissions by 60% and cost of brick-making will be reduced by 30%. The new kilns will be made on zigzag design prevalent in Nepal and the old brick kilns will also be rebuilt along those lines. It was also stated that kilns would not be allowed to be built on the old designs.
