Rahim Yar Khan: The Pakistan Army and the Houbara Foundation International Pakistan on Friday dropped the seeds of various desert plants over the Cholistan desert for the 22nd consecutive year – a news source reported.

In 1998, the Houbara Foundation undertook the initiative to reinforce the diminishing vegetation in the Cholistan Desert through the aerial drop of seeds of desert plants. Cholistan is the prime wintering habitat of the Houbara Bustard.

This year, a total 170 kilograms worth of seeds of the said specie’s favourite plant food were dropped on the desert – bringing the total seeds dispersal in the last 22 years to over 2,427 kilograms.
