A meeting was held to discuss the issue of apparent encroachments on the ROW of Kahuta Road. During the meeting, CDA General Enforcement Deputy Director Shahjahan Khan stated that the joint demarcation drive will be carried out by the Revenue Departments of Rawalpindi and Islamabad along with CDA Land Wing.
Moreover, the purpose of the demarcation drive for Sihala Road is to determine if there have been any encroachments along the road. If there are encroachments, then an operation will be conducted to clear the ROW of the said road. He further mentioned that efforts are underway to promptly initiate the joint demarcation drive for Sihala Road, ensuring the swift resolution of the matter.
A CDA official highlighted that the width of the right of way along Kahuta Road is not consistent throughout; it varies between 30 feet and 85 feet from Kakpul to G.T. Road. The said road falls within Islamabad’s jurisdiction and is currently under the administration of Rawalpindi. It serves as a crucial link connecting Grand Trunk (GT) Road with Islamabad Expressway, commencing from G.T. Road and extending up to Kahuta.

Reportedly, repair work is underway on the road, and local residents have urged the relevant authorities to address encroachments before the completion of the ongoing project. The official further stated that due to the lack of land records pertaining to this road, the actual acquired right of way cannot be confirmed by the CDA.
