Karachi: Pasban Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor has appreciated the Supreme Court’s decision to lift ban buildings higher than 6 storeys, a news source reported. At the same time, he stressed the need for Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to ensure that high-rise buildings are constructed according to the building control laws.
He said that in the old city areas, a large number of buildings are being constructed without any parking lots or violate the open space area requirements.
He further said that Karachi has a huge housing shortfall which can’t be covered without the assistance of real estate, developers, and builders. Promoting real estate in the metropolis can help create jobs and boost associated industries.
Pasban Pakistan President also stressed the need to modernise the construction system in the city. He said that the city needs both circular and underground railway systems and appreciated that Karachi Circular Railways is being resumed.
