Peshawar: Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) has given a 10-day deadline for disconnecting illegal water connections in the city, reported a news source. All WSSP Zonal Officers have received directions to identify all such connections in their designated areas.
WSSP CEO Syed Zafar Ali Shah also instructed the officers to take action against individuals who do not get their water connections registered during the communicated timeframe.
Shah gave these orders while presiding over his first agency meeting after taking charge. In this session, WSSP general managers, zonal managers, and officers from other departments, gave briefings to the new CEO.
Shah ordered the officers present to determine WSSP’s jurisdiction in the areas that fall under the scope of the Peshawar Development Authority, Cantonment, and the Town Municipal Administration. He instructed the staff to ensure cleanliness in these locations.
In order to arrange sufficient revenue inflows for the department, WSSP CEO Shah consented to the utilisation of all means.
The CEO cautioned that legal action would be taken against individuals found defaulting on their water bills – with the threat of no exemptions.
