Rawalpindi: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set a firm deadline for the completion of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project, directing authorities to finish the work by December. She also assured the provision of necessary funds to ensure timely execution.
During an unannounced visit to the project site, CM Maryam reviewed progress through an aerial inspection and instructed officials to extend the project’s scope for greater impact. Upon her arrival at the Khushalgarh Rawalpindi Ring Road camp office, Rawalpindi Commissioner Amir Khattak briefed her on project details.

The 38-kilometre Rawalpindi Ring Road is expected to ease longstanding traffic congestion and stimulate economic and business activity in the region. Maryam emphasized that the road would bring greater convenience to millions of commuters, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring the required financial resources for its completion.
According to the briefing, the project includes the construction of five interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian. Additionally, a railway bridge, five overpasses, and 21 subways will be built to enhance traffic flow and infrastructure development.
