Khanewal: Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abass Sherazi on Wednesday (January 12) was informed about the PKR 14.85 billion worth of new development projects and 1,256 ongoing development projects in Khanewal and Kabeerwal, according to news sources.

Deputy Director Planning Shahid Rehman briefed the DC Sherazi about new and ongoing uplift projects in the Khanewal district. During the meeting, it was disclosed that 84 schemes of sanitation will be completed in March at the cost of PKR 285 million. DC was also informed that the 12 sports grounds in Kabeerwal and Khanewal will be open to the public in April.
Moreover, Deputy Director Rehman stated that the construction of 6 new canals in the city was expected to be completed during the ongoing month at the cost of PKR 700 million. It was reported that work on 12 new basic health units (BHUs), 4 rural health centres, and a kidney centre was underway worth PKR 7 billion.

Reportedly, the deputy commissioner ordered the officials concerned to timely complete the development projects.
