Rawalpindi: The District Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Captain (rtd) Anwar ul Haq on Tuesday urged people to help local authorities in maintaining cleanliness within the city during the Eid-ul-Azha festivities, according to a news report. He gave recommendations to dispose offal and other animal waste products in properly tied biodegradable bags.

He issued these recommendations during a visit to the awareness camps set up by the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) and Albayrak in Civil Lines UC-45. He emphasized that keeping the city clean during the Eid holidays was part of the spiritual nature of the experience. In addition, online options for sacrificial animals were also made available.

Furthermore, he urged people to not throw waste in the city’s nullahs, streets, in front of houses, or in open plots. The use of properly closed biodegradable bags was also deemed necessary, along with throwing waste in the designated containers placed in various areas of the city or giving them to sanitary workers to dispose of properly. Haq reiterated that keeping the streets clean during Eid would not be possible unless the public cooperated properly.
