Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tahir Farooq has issued instructions for renovation work to be launched at Raja Bazaar, according to news published on January 31.

Reportedly, DC Farooq gave these orders while he was visiting the Raja Bazaar site. He was accompanied by the officials of the Town Municipal Corporation (TMA) and Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA). During the site visit, he also instructed for the immediate elimination of encroachments from all areas.
It was announced that the bazaar will be renovated with tuff tiles and directions were given for the widening of footpaths. DC Farooq also finalised that plan to reduce the Fawara Chowk area to widen surrounding roads. The PHA officials decided to work on a master plan for the beautification of Bazaar.

The city administration is already working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to rehabilitate the historical outlook of Raja Bazaar.
