Multan: Multan Deputy Commissioner (DC) Omar Jehangir chaired a crucial meeting on Tuesday, where a decisive step was taken to combat encroachments across the district, according to news published on August 2. The said meeting approved a zero-tolerance policy against encroachments, reflecting the administration’s strong commitment to addressing the issue of unauthorized construction in the city.

During the meeting, the DC issued clear directives to take immediate action against encroachers in specific areas, including Nishtar Road, Gardezi Market, Mumtazabad, and Old Shujabad Road. For this purpose, joint teams were formed to oversee the anti-encroachment drive, comprising officials from the Multan Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, and District Council.
Both permanent and temporary encroachments will be removed as part of this initiative, and the roads will be marked with red colour to serve as a deterrent against any future violations. The focus of the campaign is to ensure the restoration of public spaces and maintain the district’s infrastructure.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of full cooperation from traders and residents alike.
