Gujranwala: Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saira Umer on Thursday (October 6) ordered the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to restore 10 parks in the city, news sources reported.

The instructions were issued during a PHA review meeting in relation to the city’s development projects. On the occasion, DC Saira said that the city needs additional healthy outdoor spaces, and the restoration of 10 parks will give families safe places to enjoy. She also issued an order to recuperate a PKR 80 million budget deficit at PHA. The deputy commissioner also ordered the authority to ensure full-force presence and ensure biometric attendance of every employee. She admired the PHA’s effort to maintain the city’s beauty and its timely action in its cleanliness drive.

It is important to mention that Gujranwala is the third largest city in Punjab, with a growing population. The city is known for its food habits and has risen to fame with its infrastructure as well. The government has also recently divided the Gujranwala division in two, with Gujarat as the second division.
