Pakpattan: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ahmad Kamal Maan, who also holds the portfolio of Controller General Prices Pakpattan, has notified new brick rates for the city. As per details, the official has set PKR 6,500 per as the new price for the procurement of 1,000 bricks.

According to reports, the DC can set brick prices in exercise of the powers conferred to him under the Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 1977, and The Punjab Foodstuffs (Control) Act, 1958. The notification warns any individual or brick kiln owner against charging price higher than the one already notified.
The announcement also directs brick kiln owners to display the government-sanctioned rates in their offices for public viewing. Further, this decision will remain in effect in Pakpattan until further notice.
