Islamabad: The volume of Pakistani exports to China will see a growth of USD 6 billion following the implementation of the second phase of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA-II), a news source reported.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood expressed his views on the matter. He was addressing a seminar organised by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Dawood stressed the need to boost the production of locally-manufactured products. He said a ‘Made in Pakistan’ approach would put the country on path to economic prosperity and progress. He added that the government is trying its best to provide electricity to export-oriented industries on subsidised rates.

He said that the government plans to rationalise tariff structure in the upcoming budget. He added that the government would share a draft of its industrial policy with the business community. Moreover, another policy for entrepreneurs is in the works, he added.
