Islamabad: The Ministry of Housing and Works on Wednesday (August 17) released data on several housing projects under its flagship low-cost housing programmes, news sources reported.

It was reported that, so far, the government has completed 3,564 low-cost housing units for the Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) and 18,499 for the Akhuwat Foundation (AK) under the federal low-cost housing project. As many as 150,712 low-cost housing units were reported to be under construction all over the country under different housing projects in collaboration with provincial governments. Moreover, the government held balloting for the specified number of units in the following projects:
- 1,508 WWF low-cost housing units in Zone-V, Islamabad 4,000 LDA City, Lahore 2,000 units in Farash Town, Islamabad 839 units in Raiwind, Sargodha, and Chiniot
- 300 housing units balloted under PHA Jalozai and Nowshera in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)

Furthermore, the administration processed 9,563 successful applications for under-construction housing units across the country. The ministry further stated that the case concerning sub-sector G-14/1 is pending and would be addressed once the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issues its ruling.
