Mansehra: Upper Kohistan Deputy Commissioner (DC) Arif Khan Yousafzai on Saturday distributed cheques amounting to PKR 525 million to the landowners whose land was acquired in the locales of Kotgal and Largani areas – for the construction of the 4300 megawatts Dasu hydropower project, according to news sources.

Yousafzai said that completion of the project will help deal with the issues of power shortfall and elevate the locals’ living conditions. He lauded the landowners for their cooperation. He added that work was underway to complete the project on the given timeline.

The DC said that this project will lead to the construction of health centres, educational institutes and road infrastructure which will improve the life for the locals.
Meanwhile, the Mansehra police held awareness sessions on the novel coronavirus at 36 points and reportedly guided over 1,170 people about the precautionary measures to stop the viral spread.
