Islamabad: Pakistan President Dr. Arif Alvi said that the construction of dams will start off once annual funds worth PKR 30 billion are collected, a new source reported. So far, an amount over PKR 4.4 billion has been deposited in Supreme Court of Pakistan Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund, according to the official website of the apex court.
In his address to the nation on Monday, Alvi requested the people related to the agriculture sector to invest in drip irrigation system to save water. He also stressed that acute focus on water conservation is needed. He also requested the nation to pour in more money into the dam fund.
Alvi also appreciated Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on setting up the dam fund.
