As per the details, the people of Nashpa Block have been facing a shortage of drinking water. There is no groundwater potential to set up tube wells or deep wells, nor the area has any perennial spring to develop a water supply scheme. To provide safe drinking water to the 11 villages of Nashpa, it was decided to construct a dam where the gravity flow could be maintained.
