Rawalpindi: The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) on Thursday commenced with the construction work at the Daducha Dam project site, a news source reported.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Saddar Mehar Ghulam Abbas Haral and officials of the Small Dams Organisation visited the project site to witness the launch of the development work.
A heavy contingent of security personnel was deployed at the project site following the orders received from Rawalpindi Commissioner Captain (retired) Mohammad Mehmood.
Prior to commencing the development work, the officials concerned announced their decision to construction the diversion (flow pipe) and spill way during the first phase of the dam’s construction.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government had provided its approval to the issuance of funds for development work on the dam in December. According to reports, the project is expected to be completed at a cost of PKR 6.429 billion.
