Islamabad: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) recently issued an advisory informing customers to approach banks through their official helplines for any queries and complaints, or use the SBP helpline for additional assistance — a news source reported. As per the publication, the central bank further directed all the banks in the country to ensure that their call centres and helplines remained operational 24/7.

In addition, the central banks also took steps to enhance the capacity of its helpline through the deployment of agents at its call centres, which can be reached at 021-111-727-273 during office hours.
Additionally, in a public statement, the SBP encouraged the public to prioritize using digital payment services so that banks could provide their services with as little staff as possible. The employees of banks and other financial institutions have been providing services even amid the difficult working conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The State Bank further advised the banks to implement guidelines issued by the World Health Organization, the federal government, and all provincial authorities to ensure that their employees remained protected from the viral outbreak.
