Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Sunday was informed that efforts were underway to include the Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal (CRBC) in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and once completed the project will become a ‘game changer’ for the provincial agriculture sectors, according to news sources.

The said information was revealed during the progress review meeting of the project – where the CM was informed that the technical/financial evaluation for feasibility study, engineering design and PC-I for the CRBC project has been completed.
Additionally, the meeting was informed that Swat Motorway’s phase-II and Dera Ismail Khan Motorway has been also been proposed to the inclusion in CPEC. The meeting was further informed that the Public-Private Private Partnership Committee (PPPC) has approved execution of the commercial and financial feasibility of phase II of Swat Motorway and the land for said project is being acquired. Besides, the technical and financial evaluation of the submitted bids for the road infrastructure was also in progress.

Furthermore, the meeting was informed that for the proposed 365-kilometre Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway project has been finalised and PC-I of the project has been approved by the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP). In the same manner, feasibility for the Barang tunnel in Bajaur was underway. The PC – I of Barang tunnel in Bajur and 50-kilometre Dir motorway would be finalised soon.
It was also highlighted that the construction work on 18.325 kilometre bypass road from Ayub Bridge Havelian to Dhamtoor Abbottabad is underway.
