Islamabad: A China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC)-led delegation on Tuesday discussed the operational timeframe of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with the Board of Investment (BoI) Chairman Haroon Sharif–stated a news report.

The CRBC delegation, led by Shi Xiaobo, referred to the Rashakai facility as a ‘role model project’ for other planned SEZs in Pakistan; part of the multi-billion economic corridor (CPEC) project.
Xiaobo said that the Rashakai SEZ would facilitate industrial development, create employment opportunities, and generate economic activity. He stressed on the need for pursuing combined efforts for completing the projects.
In response, the BoI chairman said that the Rashakai SEZ held immense strategic significance due to its close proximity to Afghanistan and the Central Asian states.

He informed that the investment board is in the process of hiring dedicated teams to deal with investors from different countries and to work on important assignments, with special focus on the Rashakai SEZ.
