He said that the district administration would launch a crackdown in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Previously, the government had given orders to this effect. He said that the officials concerned were engaged in preliminary discussions as part of the initial work being carried out in consultation with the taxation authority.
A practicable strategy would soon be finalised and the district administration will swing into action against benami accounts and property holders, he added. The deputy commission also expressed his confidence that the administration would expose the elements involved in this illegal practice.
