Multan: Multan Commissioner Shan-ul-Haq has ordered an immediate crackdown against encroachments on Nashtar Road, a news source reported. As per the publication, this crackdown was aimed at removing encroachments that caused delays in moving patients to and from the city’s major health facility, Nashtar Hospital.

The commissioner particularly mentioned that encroachments on Nashtar Road cause disruptions in traffic, especially for ambulances and this delay can prove to be fatal for certain patients who need immediate medical attendance. Commissioner Haq later paid a visit to the hospital facility and announced that work on the construction of Nishtar Hospital Block II will begin in two weeks.

Following the commissioner’s directives, anti-encroachment staff started the operation against encroachers, confiscated their belongings displayed on the road side and footpaths, and also imposed fines on some shopkeepers.
The commissioner’s spokesperson has further revealed that the operation against encroachments on Nishtar Road will be carried out on a daily basis, and that the area would be monitored regularly to ensure that encroachers don’t resurface.
