Quetta: A team led by Quetta Metropolitan Corporatioin (QMC) Anti Encroachment Wing Officer Muhammad Qasim Khan launched a crackdown against property developers and individuals found violating building codes in several areas of the city, a news source reported on December 16. The operation was launched on the direct orders of QMC Administrator Syedal Khan Loni.
Development work on various under construction buildings was stopped as part of the operation. According to Khan, the violators were issued legal notices prior to the launch of the crackdown. He further revealed that the violators who approached the QMC with incomplete or misleading information regarding their approvals faced legal action.

The team further removed encroachments on Masjid Road and Jinnah Road, and issued warnings to the shopkeepers and vendors that had failed to keep their surrounding areas clean. The QMC Anti Encroachment Officer advised the shopkeepers against encroaching on public property and further revealed that the department would not ignore such violations in the future — with strict action to be taken against violators.
