Islamabad: The Chief Commissioner Office of Islamabad has directed the relevant authorities to launch a crackdown against all illegal housing schemes in the capital city to protect the citizens from falling into the traps of the fraudulent developers. The commissioner issued the directives in response to receipt of numerous complaints filed by the stakeholders.
In order to launch the crackdown, the directives have been issued to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Municipal Administration Director, Registrar Cooperatives, and the concerned directors of the Capital Development Authority.

As per the directive, not a single activity of marketing, advertising and selling of plots can be entertained by the concerned departments for developers of housing scheme for which a No Objection Certificate (NOC) hasn’t been acquired. It was further mentioned that marketing and sales activities of housing schemes without an NOC is illegal.
To counter this, the Chief Commissioner office has also asked all the relevant departments to start an awareness campaign for general public to prevent them from falling in such traps. Also, people before getting into any such deals, people should verify the legal status of any housing scheme with RDA and CDA.

The office has also directed the concerned departments to ask warrant that the publishers and printers have verified the status of housing schemes before printing or publishing their content.
