Karachi: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director Khalid Mehmood Shaikh announced that the board has launched a crackdown against illegal water hydrants in the city, as per a news story. While talking to media, Shaikh expressed his disbelief that people weren’t get a steady supply of water, despite paying bills.
He also added that an operation is underway against those involved in water theft, and would be dealt with adequately. Shaikh also added that Karachi gets a water supply of 350 million gallons per day, against a demand of 1,100 million gallons a day, and water theft worsens the situation.
