Gujranwala: The Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) has decided to launch an operation against housing societies involved in selling plots without acquiring NOC, reported a news source. These societies will face legal charges, and that’s in addition to having their sales offices sealed.
Reportedly, the GDA has prepared a list of a total of 118 housing societies and land sub-divisions involved in selling plots to the public without having an NOC issued by the authority. To carry out the operation that started yesterday, Ejaz Akbar Bhatti was appointed as Director Town Planning.
According to the details issued by GDA, Gujranwala Division has 64 illegal housing societies, while NOC approval is under process for another 27 housing colonises and land subdivisions each. Speaking to the news media, Bhatti said that the societies involved in selling plots without having an NOC issued will face legal charges and their site offices will be demolished.
He also warned the developers to abstain from selling properties without having their projects approved.
