Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has launched an operation against illegal housing schemes in the city, reported a news source. In this particular operation, the development authority demolished boundary walls and broke the roads and sewerage system laid in the private housing scheme against which LDA had not issued an NOC.

The private housing schemes where the LDA demolished the infrastructure include Gulfishan Park Housing Scheme and Ajwa Housing Scheme. In addition to that, illegally set-up land subdivisions along Raiwind Road were also demolished.

LDA is currently active against private housing schemes which are being developed without applying for an NOC or having an NOC issued for it. At the same time, Punjab Anti-Corruption Department is also carrying out an investigation against illegally set-up housing schemes in the city on accounts of looting people of their hard-earned money.

In this regard, details on these illegal developments located in certain mouzas of cantonment have also been sought from LDA. According to a news source, the Anti-Corruption Department has also called the patwari from the concerned circle to his office along with all the needed details and maps etc.
