Rahim Yar Khan: The Government of Punjab has ordered a crackdown against illegal housing schemes in the district, reported a news source. In this regard, the provincial government has asked the local government bodies in Rahim Yar Khan to share details on illegal housing schemes in three days.
Reportedly, several developers have set up housing schemes in the district without seeking formal approval. These illegal societies span between 100 kanals to 1,000 kanals. Moreover, involvement of officers from district administration is also suspected.

Due to political involvement, the illegal housing schemes have also received connections for Sui gas, sewerage, water and electricity connections. The provincial government has instructed the authorities concerned to share all records of such an involvement.

As instructed by the government, the district administration is to share details on illegal housing schemes, name of the developers, their CNIC, address, status of land approval and its size. The authority is taking these measures to prevent people from investing in these illegal housing schemes.
